This watercolor depicts a ancient Roman stone doorway, etched with the signs of aging and time, located in the picturesque alpine village in France. I tried to capture he intricate details of the weathered door by featuring the history and charm of this stunning piece of architecture. The use of watercolor adds a dreamy quality to the piece, imbuing it with a soft, ethereal glow that further emphasizes its timeless beauty. Hopefully the viewer can step into a bygone era and imagine the stories and secrets that have passed through this ancient doorway.

Beautiful contrast between the stark gray colored walls and the dark corridor angled just enough to lead the viewer in only to stop, and leave you to wonder how far back the passageway travels my eyes were drawn directly to this piece
